Exams

Course Ending Exams

An Apprentice has two attempts to write their final exam at the end of their course. If they fail the first attempt they must contact their course instructor to have the exam reset (available to write again). If the Apprentice fails the second attempt he or she must pay for the course again and start from the beginning.

Exam Proctoring

Apprentices are required to write course ending exams and will need a proctor present at the time of testing. For more information regarding proctoring please visit: onlinelearning.nscc.ca/Services/testing/Students/.

Challenge Exams

  • Online Learning will notify the Apprentice and ask they contact their nearest campus to set up an appointment to write the tests
  • hard copy exams will be sent to the location where the Apprentice will be writing
  • the exam is written on the paper only and returned to Online Learning where it will be marked. The grade is then sent to the Apprenticeship Training Officer. The Apprentice will contact the Training Officer for their mark.
  • The fee to write two exams is $25.00 total. The posting is made to the student’s account. If the student is not in PeopleSoft they will need to be Quick Admitted to receive a student ID number.

Once the posting is saved a receipt can be done as a student payment. (not a Dept. receipt)
