Wiggio

Wiggio enables group communication and collaboration. Using Wiggio, you can hold group discussions, assign tasks to group members, poll members, share calendars and schedules, upload and manage group files, and communication using live conference calls, video conferences, chat rooms, texts, emails, and voice mail.

The Wiggio tool has three main areas:

  • Feed for posting and replying to conversations.
  • Folder for accessing any content you or someone else has uploaded or shared.
  • Calendar for scheduling meetings and events.

Starting a conversation in Wiggio

  1. In the Start a conversation field, enter your text.
  2. You can click on the following icons to add resources to your conversation:
    •   Files [10]

    •   Meeting [12]
    •   To-do [13]

    •   Event [16]
  3. Do one of the following:
    • Select a group of participants from the Participants drop-down list.

    Tip Expand and review your list of participants by clicking the Show participants link. Delete participants by clicking the Remove icon by their name.

Replying to a conversation in Wiggio

Replies appear as part of a conversation thread to help you manage and keep track of multiple conversations.

Reply to a conversation

  1. Click Reply in the conversation you want to reply to.
  2. Enter your reply in the Post a comment field.
  3. Select your Notification preference.
  4. Click Post.

Note Group administrators can delete any conversation in Wiggio. Group members can only delete their own conversations.

Updating your profile in Wiggio

  1. Click on your name in the Wiggio navbar, then select Your profile.
  2. Make updates to your Name, Email, or Password by clicking change beside the field you want to change.
  3. Click Select Image to upload a profile picture, or delete to remove an image.
  4. To add AIM, Skype, Facebook, Twitter, or a personal blog to your profile, click add beside the appropriate application name.
  5. Enter your cell phone number in the Cell Phone Number field and select your carrier information from the Cellular Carrier drop-down list to receive text messages from other group members.
  6. Select Hide email address or Hide phone number to prevent other group members viewing your email address or phone number.
  7. Click Save.

Adding contacts to Wiggio

By default, all group members of any group you belong to are added to your contact list. Use your contact list to privately communicate with individual group members.

Add contacts to Wiggio

  1. Click the Contacts panel to expand your contact list.
  2. Click Add Contacts.
  3. Enter their email address(es) in the provided field or click Import from email contacts.
  4. Click Add.
  5. Note Users you add to your contact list without adding to a group cannot start conversations; however, you can include them in polls, events, messages, etc.

Communicating privately with contacts in Wiggio

Use your contact list to privately communicate with individual group members.

Communicate privately with contacts in Wiggio

  1. Click the Contacts panel to expand your contact list.
  2. Hover your mouse over the name of the contact you want to communicate with.
  3. Click any of the following:
    • Post a message to [user]
    • Share files with [user]
    • Schedule a meeting with [user]
    • Create a to-do list with [user]
    • Send a poll to [user]
    • Schedule an event with [user]
  4. Fill out the fields as appropriate, then click Post.

Deleting contacts in Wiggio

  1. In the All groups area, click the Contacts panel to expand your contact list.
  2. Hover your mouse over the name of the contact you want to delete.
  3. Click Remove [user] from contacts.

Notes

  • Deleting a contact from your contact list does not remove them from any groups you both belong to.
  • You cannot delete users from your contact list while inside a group.

Wiggio notifications

Wiggio notifications display in the navbar. Click the Alert icon to see your notifications. You receive alerts for polls and events that you are included in, as well as when you are invited to groups.

Adding files to Wiggio

  1. Click Files in the Start a conversation area.
  2. Do one of the following:
    • Click Select Files to add files directly from your computer.
    • Choose an alternate file source from the Choose where to upload from drop-down menu next to Select Files.
    • Drag and drop your files over the upload target.

    Note There is no limitation on the number of files you can upload to a group; however, files must be smaller than 100MB.

  3. Do one of the following:
    • Select a group of participants from the Participants drop-down list.
    • Add participants by entering their name or email into the Add by name or email... field and pressing Enter.
    • Click the Import from email icon to import participants from your email contact list.

    Tip Expand and review your list of participants by clicking the Show participants link. Delete participants by clicking the Remove icon by their name.

  4. Click Post.

Adding a link to Wiggio

  1. Click Link in the Start a conversation area.
  2. Enter the URL in the URL field.
  3. You can also add a name and description for the link in the Name and Description fields.
  4. Do one of the following:
    • Select a group of participants from the Participants drop-down list.
    • Add participants by entering their name or email into the Add by name or email... field and pressing Enter.
    • Click the Import from email icon to import participants from your email contact list.

    Tip Expand and review your list of participants by clicking the Show participants link. Delete participants by clicking the Remove icon by their name.

  5. Click Post.

Adding a meeting to Wiggio

  1. Click Meeting in the Start a conversation area.
  2. Select the Type of meeting you want to schedule:
    • In Person
    • Conference Call
    • Virtual Meeting
    • Chatroom
    Notes
    • You can invite up to 50 participants to a conference call. No extra phone charges apply.
    • You can invite up to 4 participants to a video conferencing virtual meeting. Otherwise, virtual meetings can include up to 10 participants.
  3. Enter a Name and Length for your meeting. If you select an In Person meeting, you also need to enter a Place.
  4. Do one of the following:
    • Select Start right now from the When menu to begin your meeting right away.
    • Select Set a date and time from the When menu to schedule your meeting at a later date.
    • Select Request availability from the When menu to enter potential dates and times for meeting participants to select from. Click More time slots to add additional time slots and Add a new date to add multiple days to the request.
  5. Do one of the following:
    • Select a group of participants from the Participants drop-down list.
    • Add participants by entering their name or email into the Add by name or email... field and pressing Enter.
    • Click the Import from email icon to import participants from your email contact list.

    Tip Expand and review your list of participants by clicking the Show participants link. Delete participants by clicking the Remove icon by their name.

  6. Click Post.
    Notes
    • When adding a conference call meeting, users invited to participate will see a post in their feed containing instructions on how to join the call.
    • When adding a virtual meeting, users will see a post containing a join meeting link.
    • When adding a chatroom, users will see a post containing an enter chatroom link.
    • Depending on the group's configuration, users may also receive an email invitation for any of the above meetings.

Adding a to-do list to Wiggio

  1. Click To-do in the Start a conversation area.
  2. Enter a List Name and Task for the list. Click Add another task to add additional tasks.
  3. Hover your mouse beside a task field to reveal the following options:
    • Move this task up in the list
    • Move this task down in the list
    • Due date Set a due date for the task
    • Assign Assign this task to a participant
    • Delete this task from the list
  4. Do one of the following:
    • Select a group of participants from the Participants drop-down list.
    • Add participants by entering their name or email into the Add by name or email... field and pressing Enter.
    • Click the Import from email icon to import participants from your email contact list.

    Tip Expand and review your list of participants by clicking the Show participants link. Delete participants by clicking the Remove icon by their name.

  5. Click Post.

Adding a poll to Wiggio

  1. Click Poll in the Start a conversation area.
  2. Enter a Poll name.
  3. Select Do not show participants' names in results to keep answers anonymous.
  4. Enter your question in the Question field.
  5. Select one of the following question types:
    • Yes/No
    • Short Answer
    • Multiple Choice, then Choose One or Choose Many

    Tip To change your question type, hover your mouse beside the Question field, then click Change Type.

  6. Do one of the following:
    • Select a group of participants from the Participants drop-down list.
    • Add participants by entering their name or email into the Add by name or email... field and pressing Enter.
    • Click the Import from email icon to import participants from your email contact list.

    Tip Expand and review your list of participants by clicking the Show participants link. Delete participants by clicking the Remove icon by their name.

  7. Click Post.

Adding a message to Wiggio

  1. Click Message in the Start a conversation area.
  2. Select whether you want to post a Text or Video message.
  3. Do one of the following:
    • For a text message, enter your message in the Type your message here... field.
    • For a video message, click Allow if an Adobe Flash Player Settings message displays. Click Record to record your message and Stop to stop. To redo your message, click Redo.
  4. Do one of the following:
    • Select a group of participants from the Participants drop-down list.
    • Add participants by entering their name or email into the Add by name or email... field and pressing Enter.
    • Click the Import from email icon to import participants from your email contact list.

    Tip Expand and review your list of participants by clicking the Show participants link. Delete participants by clicking the Remove icon by their name.

  5. Click Post.

Adding an event to Wiggio

  1. Do one of the following:
    • In the Calendar tab of the group you want to add an event to, click Add an event.
    • Click Event in the Start a conversation area.
  2. Enter an Event Name.
  3. In the When area, select a date and time for your event.
  4. Enter a Place and Description for the event.
  5. In the Remind Me area, enable a reminder for the event.
  6. Select Repeat to repeat the event. In the pop-up window, fill out how often you want the event to repeat, and when you want the event to end.
  7. Do one of the following:
    • Select a group of participants from the Participants drop-down list.
    • Add participants by entering their name or email into the Add by name or email... field and pressing Enter.
    • Click the Import from email icon to import participants from your email contact list.

    Tip Expand and review your list of participants by clicking the Show participants link. Delete participants by clicking the Remove icon by their name.

  8. Select your Notification choice:
    • Send based on their mailing list preference.
    • Force regardless of their mailing list preference.
    • Do not send any notification.
  9. Click Create or Post.

Click view or maintain in the Tasks post that displays in your Feed and select a task's check box to mark it as complete.

Note Completed tasks save automatically, and detail who completed the task and when it was completed.

Create a folder for a group

  1. In the group you want to create a folder for, click on the Folder tab.
  2. Click Create > Folder.
  3. Enter a Name for your folder and click Create.

Create a folder outside of a group

  1. In the All groups area of Wiggio, click on the Folder tab.
  2. Click Create > Folder.
  3. Enter a Name for your folder and click Create.

  1. In the Folders tab of the group you want to edit folders for, select the check box for the folder you want to edit.
  2. Select one of the following options:
    • Download
    • More, then Move, Rename, or Delete

  1. Click   Upload in the Folders tab of the group you want to upload items to. You can select from the following options:
    • My Computer
    • Google Drive
    • Dropbox

Click the Showing drop-down list in the Folders tab of the group you want to sort items for. You can select from the following options:

  • All
  • Folders

Creating a group in Wiggio

Note When you create a group, you are automatically the group's administrator.

  1. Click the Create a new group icon.
  2. On the Create a group page, enter a Group name and Password.
  3. Select how you want group members to receive emails:
    • Each post by email
    • Each post by email or SMS
    • A daily summary of posts by email
    • No mail
  4. Click Create.

Creating a subgroup in Wiggio

Use subgroups to organize your group into smaller, specific groups. You can hold conversations just for subgroup members. See Adding a subgroup in Wiggio to a conversation [35] for more information.

  1. Click Subgroups in the group header.
  2. Enter a name in the Subgroup Name field and click Create.
  3. Select the members you want to add to the subgroup from the These members are not in the subgroup list, then click Add or Remove Members.

    Note To remove users from the These members are in the subgroup list, select the members you want to remove, then click Add or Remove Members.

Adding users to a group in Wiggio

  1. Click on the group you want to add members to.
  2. Click the Add members link in the Members panel.
  3. Do one of the following:
    • In the Email tab, enter the email addresses of anyone you want to add to the group. You can also select recipients from your email address book(s) by clicking the email contacts link or import recipients from a spreadsheet by clicking the spreadsheet link.
    • In the Link tab, copy the group link provided. Share the link with anyone you want to add to the group.

      Note To disable this link at any time, change the password for your group.

Finding your group email address in Wiggio

Every group has a specialized group email address. When you send an email to the group email address, all group members receive it unless they have disabled their alerts.

Find your group email address

In the group you want to find the group email address for, click Mailing List. The group email address displays in the Mail address field.

Sharing a group in Wiggio

  1. In the group you want to share, click Share Group in the group header.
  2. Copy the provided link, and share it with users you want to invite to the group.

Notes

  • Clicking the link allows anyone to join the group. If you want to control who is able to join a group, add group members manually [30] instead of sharing a link.
  • To disable the group link at any time, change the password for the group [36].

Joining a group in Wiggio

  1. Click the   Join an existing group icon.
  2. Enter the name and password for the group in the Name and Password fields.
  3. Click Join.

    Note If you do not have a group name and password for the group you want to join, the only other ways to join a group are to be invited via email by an existing group member or by clicking on a group link shared by a group member.

Leaving a group in Wiggio

Note Group administrators do not receive a notification when you leave a group.

  1. In the group you want to leave, click Leave Group in the group header.
  2. Click Ok.

Adding a subgroup to a conversation in Wiggio

You can specify subgroups you want to target in conversations. Only members of the subgroup can see the conversation.

  1. Enter your message or click on a resource link in the Start a conversation area.
  2. Click Show Subgroups in the Members sidebar.
  3. Clear the Select All check box. Then, select the check box for the subgroup you want to include in the conversation. The names of the members of the subgroup will display beneath the Participants drop-down list.

Editing settings for a group in Wiggio

Note Only group administrators can edit group settings.

  1. Click Group Settings in the group header.
  2. Change the group Name, Password, and Description by clicking change by the appropriate field.
  3. Update how group members receive email in the Group Email section.
  4. Click Select Image to add or update the group image, or click delete group image to remove it.
  5. In the Permissions section, select permissions to enable them for your group's users, or clear permissions to disable them.
  6. Select a Color for your course.
  7. In the Privacy section, select Hide email addresses and Hide phone numbers to prevent email addresses and phone numbers from being visible to other group members.
  8. Click Save.

Updating membership for a group in Wiggio

  1. Click Group Settings in the group header.
  2. In the Members tab, select from the following options:
    • Add Members Invite participants to join your group.
    • Re-invite Resend invitation emails to participants who have not yet responded.
    • Edit Names Update the names of unconfirmed members, then click Save.
    • Make Admin Select any members you want to make admins, then click Save.
    • Demote Admin Select any members with administrative privileges that you want to make regular members, then click Save.
    • Remove Members Select any members you want to remove from the group, then click Save.
    Notes
    • Users do not receive a notification when you remove them from the group.
    • The group creator can never be demoted to a regular group member.

Changing the owner for a group in Wiggio

ImportantAny group ownership changes you make are permanent. If you make another user the group owner, the only way to become the owner again is to have the other user reassign ownership back to you.

  1. In the group you want to change ownership for, click Group Settings.
  2. In the Members tab, hover your mouse over the user you want to make the group owner.
  3. Select Make Owner from the Options drop-down list, then click OK.

Deleting a group in Wiggio

Notes

  • Only group administrators can delete the group.
  • Deleting a group deletes all subgroups associated with the group.
  1. Click Group Settings in the group header.
  2. Click Delete this group, then click Ok.

NoteFor any group with subgroups, the group administrator is also the administrator for the subgroup(s).

  1. Click Group Settings in the group header.
  2. In the Subgroups tab, click edit or delete for the subgroup you want to edit or delete.

  1. In the Calendar tab of the group you want to edit an event for, click on the event you want to edit.
  2. Click Edit.
  3. Select Tell everyone to let event members know of edits to the event.

Printing events in Wiggio

Note Clicking Print prints any events currently on display in the agenda view. You can adjust which events print by editing the Showing events from date fields. You cannot print events from the monthly view.

  1. In the Calendar tab of the group you want to print events for, click Print.

In the Calendar tab, click Switch to monthly view or Switch to agenda view to switch views.

  1. In the Calendar tab, select Import a calendar from the drop-down list beside the Add an event link.
  2. Click on one of the links provided and follow the instructions on the screen, or click Browse to select an .ICS file to import, then click Submit.

Exporting your calendar

  1. In the Calendar tab, select Export this calendar from the drop-down list beside the Add an event link.
  2. In the pop-up window, copy the URL from either the This group's events or All your events field.
  3. Paste the URL into your online or desktop calendar application's appropriate area. Follow the prompts on the screen.
