Organize Your Course

The Content Tool lets you post and organize course content so that information about the course, course outline, course materials and important dates display to students clearly.

The first thing you do in setting up your course is build the course structure. We do this by adding modules and sub-modules. This session shows you how to do this.

Start to build your course by adding modules and sub-modules.

  1. How will you organize your course? How many modules? What will you name them?
Sketch this out on a piece of paper.

  2. Open your Brightspace sandbox or request a course development shell by submitting a ticket to the Service Desk.

  3. Add a module and name it “Welcome”. You can add a description to let students know what is in the module. This can always be added later.

  4. Add your other modules and sub-modules. Remember, at NSCC we use descriptive titles. Module 1 or week 1 will not work.
